Former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) spokesperson and political commentator Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has weighed in after the Israeli Embassy in South Africa dismissed allegations that it was funding Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma and her civic movement, March and March.

The claims, which circulated widely on social media, alleged that Israel was financially backing Jacinta’s activities. However, the embassy rejected the allegations, saying they were false and had no factual basis.

Israel denies funding claims

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Israeli Embassy in South Africa said it does not fund political movements or individuals in South Africa and described the allegations as misinformation.

The embassy urged the public to verify information before sharing it, adding that the claims were entirely unfounded.

Reacting to the embassy’s statement, Mbuyiseni cautioned South Africans against accepting every narrative presented to them without scrutiny.

In a post on X, he warned that people should remain critical of information circulating online and avoid being easily swayed by unverified claims. His comments quickly sparked discussion, with supporters and critics debating his views and the broader conversation surrounding misinformation on social media.

Debate continues online

The exchange has fuelled further debate online, with many users sharing differing opinions about the embassy’s response and the original allegations.

While some welcomed the clarification from the Israeli Embassy, others continued to question the origins of the claims and called for greater transparency in political discourse.

As the conversation continues, the incident has once again highlighted how quickly unverified claims can spread online and the importance of relying on credible information before drawing conclusions.
