According to reports, an urgent court application has been brought forward seeking to restrain Ngizwe from making further statements deemed harmful to Julius’s reputation. The matter is said to involve claims that recent public comments crossed the line into defamation, prompting legal intervention.

Court documents reportedly outline concerns over repeated public statements, with the applicant arguing that the remarks have caused reputational harm and require immediate restraint. The matter has sparked widespread discussion online, with social media users weighing in on the ongoing tension between public speech and defamation laws in South Africa.

IOL reported that in one of the statements placed before court, Ngizwe alleged that Julius had “recently got 60 million from Nigerian drug dealers” and claimed the EFF leader was “willing to lose everything that he has politically in order to protect Nigerians and other illegal immigrants.”

Ngizwe has not yet issued a detailed public response to the latest legal developments at the time of publication.

The case adds to a growing list of high-profile disputes in South Africa where public figures have turned to the courts over alleged defamatory statements, highlighting the increasing legal scrutiny around commentary made on radio, social media, and public platforms. The matter is expected to proceed through the courts, where further details will be clarified as the case unfolds.
