This decision comes after extensive consultations between SASSA and various stakeholders aimed at minimising disruption during this critical period.
In a statement released to the public, SASSA announced that, having received approval from National Treasury, a new payment schedule has been put in place to facilitate a smooth transition for beneficiaries.
The agency detailed the revised payment timeline as follows:
- Older Persons Grant: Friday, 30 October 2026
- Disability Grant: Monday, 2 November 2026
- Children’s Grants: Tuesday, 3 November 2026
In addition to these changes, SASSA has highlighted the importance of responsive communication for beneficiaries currently undergoing grant reviews.

Beneficiaries are urged to stay informed and attend any review appointments when requested to avoid delays in their payments.
The payment scheduled for 5 November 2026 is specifically dedicated to those whose grants fall within this review process.
SASSA has further cautioned beneficiaries against rushing to their offices, assuring them that payments will be processed in accordance with the new schedule.
The agency encourages the public to rely on official communication channels for accurate information and to be vigilant against misinformation regarding social grants.
