More than 15 million tickets have been applied for in the first 12 days of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 ballot, with South Africa the second-biggest source of applications.
Cricket World Cup sees massive demand
As of Monday, 4,423,417 registrations from fans in 142 countries covered 15,083,752 tickets. The ballot opened on 1 October, and applications have climbed from one million last week. The United Kingdom leads the way, followed by South Africa, India, the USA and Australia.
ICC chief executive Sanjog Gupta said: “The overwhelming demand for tickets is a testament to the stature and appeal of the Cricket World Cup, the allure of Africa as a destination and the anticipation for the event generated by the ICC and its partners’ promotional activities leading up to the event launch.”

South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will host the 14th edition in October and November 2027, with 14 teams playing 57 matches at 12 venues. It is the first World Cup in Africa since 2003, and Namibia’s first time hosting matches at the senior men’s tournament.
Fans can register until 23h59 (CAT) on 21 November HERE.
Entry is free, and nothing is paid at registration. Each fan can enter once per match, across as many matches as they like. The ballot is not first come, first served, so entering early does not improve a fan’s chances. Where a match is oversubscribed, a random draw decides who can buy tickets, and applicants will be told the outcome by email.
