A video posted by @MDNnews on X (formerly Twitter) has gained attention, showing officials from the Department of Home Affairs allegedly searching a church for illegal foreigners. Although the video is blurry, it is clear that the officials are inside the church.

In the comments section, many viewers are applauding the officials, saying they are doing a good job. Some people are even asking where they can report other places they know have illegal immigrants.

This comes after the new Home Affairs Minister, Leon Schreiber, promised more inspections across all sectors, to deport those employed illegally. Leon said his department will be increasing efforts to combat illegal immigration, working in collaboration with the Department of Employment and Labour and the police, as reported by Eye Witness News.

Additionally, according to The Citizen, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Njabulo Nzuza issued a stern warning to officials who work with undocumented foreigners to provide them with South African identity documents. This warning follows the recent sentencing of former Home Affairs official Judy Zuma, who received an effective 12-year prison sentence for her involvement in a syndicate that delivered fraudulent passports to foreign nationals who did not qualify for the documents.
