Internet users did not come to play when it came to defending singer and songwriter Samthing Soweto after he was snubbed from the newly released song ‘Amalanga Awafani.’

The X (formerly known as Twitter) streets were recently buzzing as internet users called for the singer to be credited in the song with some even reporting it on music platforms and vowing to not listen to the song until the matter was resolved.

Taking to Instagram Live, DJ Maphorisa had an emotional rant regarding the backlash he received from internet users as some people started saying that he was greedy by not giving Samthing Soweto his accreditation given that it was his voice on the song.

One user commented:

I humbly ask everyone who believe that Samthing Soweto should have been credited on the song Amalanga Awafani for his vocals to report it on iTunes. Here is how to do it ⬇️

On the report write “Samthing Soweto was not credited for being on this song”

Another user said:

Realising that Samthing Soweto is the only vocalist who mentions the words ‘Amalanga Awafani’ in that song. If they remove his vocals, the song won’t even be ‘Amalanga Awafani’ 😭🤣 Oh Sam, Sam what am I going to do with you? 🫵🏽

After X users expressed their concerns regarding the song, Samthing Soweto was then added as a credit leading people to stream the song. However, it is not yet known if he got his cut from being on the song but users are happy that he has been added.
