Amanda Manku, widely recognised for her role in the popular South African soap opera Skeem Saam as Doctor Elizabeth Thobakgale, has recently come forward with a deeply personal and harrowing revelation.

The actress has disclosed that her father, William Manku, a police captain, orchestrated the murders of her mother, Gladys Manku, and her grandmother, Lettie Maphuthuma.

According to The South African, Amanda had an Instagram Q&A session where she was asked about her emotional well-being following her father’s arrest.

She acknowledged the challenges in her personal life but affirmed her strength, stating that she doesn’t have the luxury of weakness.

“This question, I think it requires one to dig deep in. I am okay. I think a lot is going on in my personal life right now that if I was not strong, it could get me down, but I don’t have that option. Unfortunately, I don’t have the option to be weak. I don’t have the privilege of being weak. I have to be strong,” she said

Additionally, the publication mentioned above states that Amanda’s father, along with his girlfriend Nonhlanhla Ngubo and David Khoza, was arrested earlier this year on charges including conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, two counts of murder, defeating the ends of justice, and robbery with aggravated circumstances.

The girlfriend was released, and her father and David remained in custody since their arrest.

During a recent court appearance, the police captain sought bail to resign as a police officer. He confessed in an affidavit that he orchestrated the murders of his mother-in-law and wife, claiming he directed hitmen to the victims’ location and was informed of the killings afterwards.
