A video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by user @SelloLibram has gone viral, showing an alleged foreign national hiding inside an orange trash bin, only to be discovered by South African Police Service (SAPS) officers and traffic wardens.

The man, was visibly distressed as officials pulled him from his hiding spot and escorted him into a traffic van by the bin he was hiding in.

The video, which has now sparked widespread laughter across the streets of X, shows SAPS and traffic officials parked on the roadside as the unusual scene unfolds. While the man’s nationality has not been confirmed, his attempt to evade authorities by hiding in the brightly orange-coloured trash bin has led to countless jokes and shock online.

These are the people who talk crap about SA but hide in garbage bins when they should be heading back to their own countries. Life must be nice in SA that you cry
