Media personalities Innocent Sadiki and Millicent Mashile open up about their parents’ deaths and how it emotionally impacted their lives.

They talked about losing their father while they were teenagers and their mother when they were four years old in the interview, which was posted on their YouTube channel.

Fear of dying young was one of the traumas experienced when their mother passed away at the age of 26.

Although they had been told she had been electrocuted, they were unsure of the exact cause of her death.

“It caused a lot of trauma for me. The first couple of years as a child, I don’t remember them at all. The only memories I have are of me in my 20s. Now that we are older, we have so many questions that are unanswered,” Millicent said.

“I remember having so much fear at 25. I was like, I’m going to die at 26. In my head, that’s when life ends. The same thing with my children, when my children turned four. I was like, they are not going to have a mother.

As a result of the emotional trauma brought on by the deaths of her parents, Innocent stated, she found it difficult to remember her past.

“It’s the memory loss for me as well. I didn’t realise that until I was married, until I had children. I know my mom from a picture; I don’t know her as a person. I have zero memories of my mom.”
