Former Build One South Africa (BOSA) Gauteng MPL Ayanda Allie has broken her silence after the party announced that it had terminated her membership following a lengthy internal disciplinary process.

BOSA confirmed last week that Ayanda’s membership had been terminated after disciplinary proceedings that began in July 2025. According to the party, it undertook repeated efforts through engagement, consultation and mediation before reaching the decision. The party also said Ayanda was allowed to appeal the decision but elected not to do so, making the board’s ruling final.
“I owe you an explanation”
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ayanda said she had initially decided not to comment publicly but felt she owed South Africans an explanation because of her role as a public representative.
“I was not going to comment but I realise that as a public representative, I owe you an explanation. This is my version of events.”

“I hereby confirm my expulsion from Build One South Africa (BOSA). Over the past two years I have been honoured to serve the people of Gauteng as a member of the Provincial Legislature, deployed by BOSA,” read a part of the statement.
Explaining the reasons behind her expulsion, she said, “Tensions arose with party leadership when I declined to sign a code of conduct requiring me to donate an entire month’s salary to the party annually plus an additional 10% of my gross salary monthly. After discussions, the policy was revised to remove the full month’s contributions and adjust the monthly amount to 10% of my net salary, which I then accepted and signed.
“However, further issues emerged when I was informed that the legislative funds meant for travel and constituency work would not be made available for me to fulfil my constitutional obligations. As a result, I withheld the party levy from BOSA and instead used the resources to support the legislative and party political community initiatives for which I took an oath,” she penned.
I funded all these activities below & more, using my salary, on behalf of BOSA for the benefit of our communities.
