Willemse limped off in the final play of the first half of the Boks’ 33-26 win over New Zealand at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, replaced by Manie Libbok.

“Damian Willemse? Ja, he’s injured his hamstring; he’s out for next week,” Erasmus said after the match.

The result levelled the four-match series 1-1 and returned the Boks to the No 1 world ranking, with Man of the Match Cheslin Kolbe contributing 18 points off the kicking tee.
