Overnight mixed berry oats

Making better food choices doesn’t have to mean losing out on great flavour. Ntwenhle Gcabashe shows you how to prepare overnight mixed berry oats that are delicious and good for you. Pictures by Dylan Swart

Prep time: 20 minutes

Serves: 2

  • 2 cup oats
  • 2 tablespoons Chia seeds
  • 3 cups (750ml) almond milk
  • ½ teaspoon almond essence
  • 1 cup Greek yoghurt
  • Mixed berries, for serving
  • Honey, for serving
  • Sliced figs, for serving
  • Mint leaves, for serving

Grape and chocolate tart  

  1. In an airtight container, mix oats, seeds, milk, essence and yoghurt. Close with a lid.
  2. Refrigerate overnight. Mix before serving.
  3. Serve with mixed berries, honey, figs and mint leaves.
