Tips for planning the perfect springtime solo date

by Staff Bona
PICTURE: PEXELS/ SOLO DATE

Spring is here, ushering in warmer days and a renewed sense of energy and motivation to get out there and do life. And while it’s great spending time with significant others, friends and family, and nurturing those relationships, why not set aside a day just for yourself? Doing this is a beneficial form of self-care as it allows you to unwind and rest by doing things that are good for your body and soul.

So choose a date, mark it in your calendar and treat it as a priority. Decide in advance what you would like to do – here are some fun ideas to help you embrace the essence of spring and enjoy the perfect solo date:

Try an outdoor workshop

Search for a spring-themed workshop, such as flower pressing, painting or sketching.

Visit a local park or botanical garden

Soak in the beauty of spring and the benefits from being outdoors by taking a walk through a blooming park or botanical garden.

Go on a scenic bike ride

This is another way to enjoy the blooming scenery and take in the fresh spring air – while also getting some exercise.

Eat at your favourite restaurant or cafe

Indulge in your favourite meal and drink or treat yourself to the latest offerings on the menu that use the season’s fresh produce.

Check out a museum or art gallery

Being on your own means that you can go at your own pace and engage with the exhibits that are of interest to you.

Pamper yourself with a spa treatment

Always a winner, pamper yourself with a massage, facial, manicure or pedicure, which means you can wear those sandals with confidence.

Enjoy some quiet time at home:
If you have a busy family life, send hubby and the kids out for the day. Take the time to start the book that’s been on your to-read list for the longest time, listen to calming music or meditate in your garden to connect with yourself.
