The ultimate IT girl grocery list

by Akhona Ndlela
PICTURE: PEXELS/ GROCERIES

Ever wonder what a grocery cart of an IT girl looks like?

While the newest, trendy snacks and the most Instagrammable dishes are certainly included, they are not the exclusive focus.

Embracing the ease and convenience of modern living while providing your body with the proper mix of energy, style, and nutrition is the goal.

Perhaps consider your shopping list to be an expression of your lifestyle, effortlessly stylish, colourful, and brimming with items that give you the confidence, energy, and readiness to take on the day in any way.

WebMD suggests that you select whole-grain bread, lean meats and fish, whole-grain or alternative-flour pasta and rice, and low-sodium sauces to keep your diet nutritious. Select whole-grain cereals, whole-grain cereal bars, and steel-cut or instant oatmeal. Select canned low-sodium foods and freeze items such as carrots, peas, spinach, and broccoli. Use lower amounts of butter and whole-fat cheese without compromising flavour.

Eat fresh produce, such as oranges, bananas, apples, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries. Additionally healthy are beverages like water, plant-based milk, sparkling water, and unsweetened teas. Prioritise whole, unprocessed foods with few ingredients when you go grocery shopping and pay particular attention to items that are abundant in fibre, protein, and nutrients. Making healthy decisions when grocery shopping requires reading food labels, the above health source adds.

The Everygirl, alternatively suggests one use the following as a guide where you pick a dozen eggs, Greek yoghurt, cheese, grains (quinoa or basmati rice), cereal, two cooked or prepared proteins, two vegetables, two fruits, fresh herbs, and smart snacks like popcorn, almonds, dried fruit, or dark chocolate. Use the Greek yoghurt with cheese, grains, snacks, and inventive breakfasts.
