Places that aren’t suitable for a first date

by Unathi Balele

The ideal location for a first date will always be dependent on the preferences and interests of both people involved.

However, there are several places that may not be suitable for a first date, as they could create an uncomfortable or awkward situation.

Here are five examples by Lovin IE of places that aren’t the best option for a first date:

  1. A loud and crowded club or bar: It can be challenging to get to know someone when you can’t hear each other over the loud music. The point of a first date is to try to get to know the person you are on a date with. The loud music will get in the way of you both trying to get to know each other.
  2. A movie theatre: While movies can be great for later dates, they don’t provide much opportunity for conversation and getting to know each other. Choosing the right movie that you’ll both enjoy will be quite tricky as you do not know each other’s preferences yet.
  3. A family gathering: Meeting your date’s family for the first time can be overwhelming, and it’s better to wait until you both feel more comfortable with each other.
  4. A fast-food restaurant: While there’s nothing wrong with fast food, it may not be the most romantic or impressive first date location.
  5. Any place that one of you is uncomfortable with: If one person is uncomfortable with a certain location, it’s best to find a different place that both people are comfortable with to avoid any unnecessary tension.
