South African’s have had with the crime rate in Pretoria’s Soshanguve that has seen many people lose their lives in the hands of criminals, including a five year old boy name Ditebogo Junior Phalane, who was shot and killed while robbers were hijacking his father’s car.

This incident took place in block UU, in this notorious township that is now feared by many, including multi award-winning deejay and producer Kabelo “Kabza De Small” Motha.

Ditebogo Senior Phalane’s white Toyota Hilux bakkie was taken by armed robbers who in the process shot and killed his young boy.

It is reported that this was not the first time the family had unwelcome visitors who wanted to take their belongings as they experienced a break-in at their home a few months back, resulting in Ditebogo senior’s bakkie wheels stolen.

One would think that the shocking death of a five year old that got mzansi offering to pay huge amounts of money to bring forward the criminals would scare them off but NO! that is not the case. The latest criminal news in Soshanguve is the armed robbery of the local shopping centre; Soshanguve Crossing where TFG owned Sportscene was invaded by criminals yesterday.

The shopping centre robbery was reported by news medium MDN News on their X (former Twitter), something that angered many South African citizens who took time to call for the government to deploy special forces to the crime-ridden township.

One user asked:

Is Sosha taking over as the crime capital ??

— Bheki (@bhekezinhle) May 13, 2024

Another user lambasted the police, commenting:

Soshanguve this, Soshanguve that!! @SAPoliceService Our people can’t stay like this. It’s either you do something or things are really going to spiral out of control when Citizens take the law in to their own hand. Sosha needs to be fixed like Mamelodi? pic.twitter.com/BCuRr0KQUs
