A humid and moist environment means that bathrooms can be the ideal place for a plant as conditions resemble those of a rainforest, but many houseplant owners make the mistake of choosing plants that can’t survive in this setting. When selecting plants for your bathroom, choose varieties that can thrive in shade or low to medium light, as well as in higher humidity and warm temperatures.
Jade Plant
The jade plant is a popular housewarming gift due to its positive financial energy in any space within your home. This plant thrives and brings good energy when located at the front of a house, but avoid placing it in the bathroom as this is too closed off for it to survive.

Hibiscus
Hibiscus flowers need a lot of sunshine to do well. You need to place these flowers in the sunniest place you have, which is unlikely to be the bathroom. They don’t work well inbathrooms due to sunlight and too much moisture. The only time it should come near your bathroom is when washing it. Pop the hibiscus in a sink or bathtub and rinse it with warm water during wash days.
Monkey mask monstera
This variety of the monstera plant thrives in humid conditions, making it ideal for the bathroom. However, it’s important to allow the soil to dry out after watering. The plant may only require watering every few weeks. However, bathrooms often retain moisture, leading to consistently damp soil that is unsuitable for the plant.

Gardenia
Gardenias are challenging to maintain, but look stunning. They thrive with morning sunlight and prefer afternoon shade. Therefore, unless your window receives direct sunlight, it is best not to keep them in a bathroom.
Bird of paradise
This tall, tree-like plant can grow up to six feet indoors, making it an ideal choice for adding life to empty spaces. It is best placed in large areas such as entrance halls and sitting rooms. However, its expansive leaves may take up too much space in a bathroom, so it is not advisable to keep it there.
