Man Arrested for DUI in Pink Barbie Jeep Sparks Global Laughter

by Zaghrah Anthony

Pink Jeep, Big Trouble: B.C. Man Arrested for DUI in Toy Car

Sometimes, a story is too funny not to share, but in British Columbia, it also comes with legal consequences. Kasper Lincoln recently turned heads (and screens worldwide) when he attempted to drive a pink toy Barbie Jeep to the local 7/Eleven at around 9 a.m., explaining afterward that he was simply “too lazy to walk.”

When a Toy Becomes a Vehicle

Lincoln’s ride wasn’t just whimsical, it was technically illegal. In B.C., any motorized conveyance counts as a vehicle, meaning it requires a valid driver’s license. Unfortunately for Lincoln, not only was his license suspended, but he was also under the influence at the time. Despite traveling at a snail’s pace under 2 miles per hour and even signaling turns with his hands, his joyride didn’t escape the notice of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

RCMP officer Jennifer Cooper explained the reasoning behind the stop: “Other motorists were forced to go around him, and drivers aren’t used to seeing toy cars on busy roads. It created enough risk to warrant police attention.” Lincoln was promptly arrested for prohibited driving and now faces a 90-day driving ban, which he plans to contest.

A Polite Arrest and Viral Fame

Despite the arrest, Lincoln kept his sense of humor. He praised the arresting officer for handling the situation politely, noting, “He was really nice. He was filling out all of this paperwork, saying, ‘This is my first time!’” Lincoln concluded the experience with a classic takeaway: “Don’t drink and drive.”

Social Media Goes Wild

The story didn’t just stay local—it exploded online, with users around the world reacting to the absurdity. On X (formerly Twitter), @whoa.bobby quipped, “Unforgivable crime this is. Our tax dollars being well spent. I can sleep better tonight knowing there isn’t a guy driving a pink Barbie Jeep.”

@shawn.sss joked, “They pulled over our boy Ken,” while @daviddhaliwal couldn’t resist turning the tale into a music reference: “They see me rollin’ / They hatin’ / Patrollin’ and tryna catch me ridin’ dirty…”

The Takeaway

Lincoln’s misadventure is a reminder that laws apply even in the quirkiest circumstances. While the world laughed at the image of a grown man behind the wheel of a tiny pink Jeep, the consequences were real—and the story serves as a cautionary tale wrapped in absurdity.
