3 easy oven cleaning tips

oven cleaning tips

It’s time to stop putting off this tedious task because we’ve got some clever ways to make cleaning your oven easier…

The good news is that there are a number of ways to make cleaning your oven easier, and the even better news is that we’ve got them right here for you…

1. Get your dishwasher involved. Why waste time scrubbing those racks when your dishwasher is perfectly capable? Put them in on the hottest setting and, if you need to, you can leave them in for the next cycle – they should be thoroughly clean after that! If you don’t have a dishwasher, put some hot water in your bath with some washing powder and leave the racks to soak overnight. All you’ll need to do is give them a little scrub the next morning, and they’ll look as good as new.

2. Use bicarbonate of soda. Make a paste with water and bicarb and, once your oven has cooled, spread the paste over the walls and bottom of the oven – avoiding the elements – and allow it to work its magic for at least an hour – overnight would be even better. In the morning, a simple wipe with a cloth should get all the grease, grit and grim right out of there.

3. Steam it. If your oven isn’t too greasy, ‘bake’ an oven pan of water for 20-30 min on the hottest setting. Switch the oven off and allow it to cool before opening the door, then wipe with a damp cloth. Voila!
