Stress and anxiety can come at the worst times or moments in your life, sometimes you just need something quick that will relieve you from it.

Some experience this on the daily and others are surrounded by things or people that trigger their stress levels and anxiety. This can be triggered by many things such as family or relationship issues or work and financial obligations.

Healthline advises to minimize the chronic stress of daily life as it may affect your health and increase risks of your health conditions such as heart disease, anxiety disorders, and depression.

This is how exercise can help you with stress

Robin Madell describes exercising as a way to improve your body’s ability to use oxygen and blood flow, which both have a good direct effect on your brain. Not only is exercise good for you physically but it is also good to take your mind off worries. It can also help to:

  • improve your blood circulation
  • improve your ability to control weight
  • help you sleep better at night
  • boost your energy
  • improve your self-image

Other methods of exercise you can try to help you relax and help to relieve stress are as follows:

  • Cycling
  • Swimming
  • Playing sports
  • Practicing breathing exercises
  • Yoga/ stretching
