5 Ways to live a holistic lifestyle

by Limpho Nonkonyane
PEXELS

Adapting to a holistic way of living isn’t always easy, given the life disruptions one might face from time to time.

A holistic lifestyle can be defined as the concept that entails adopting a way of life that encompasses an individual’s mental, physical and spiritual elements, says information hub First Day.

These elements tend to vary from person to person, given that different people desire different things.

Ashley Rachel, a self-love and relationship coach, says, “Taking a holistic approach to health involves seeing the ‘bigger picture,'” adding that, “a holistic lifestyle is about recognising that different parts of a person connect to a larger whole.”

Here are five ways to live a holistic lifestyle presented by First Day:

  1. Discover your purpose: The information hub says that to live a holistic lifestyle, you need to know your purpose as it will motivate you to achieve more things. For example, in finding your purpose in life, you allow yourself to attract things that are meant for you.
  2. Create positive relationships with people: Establishing and maintaining positive connections with others is of paramount importance if one desires to lead a well-rounded lifestyle that fosters feelings of contentment, joyfulness, and physical fitness.
  3. Have a minimalistic approach: First Day suggests that less is more meaning that for you not to feel overwhelmed with life, you need to learn to get rid of things that no longer serve you.
  4. Have a morning routine: Adapting to a morning routine that works for you ensures that the rest of your day runs smoothly, allowing for productive sessions and time for micro-breaks. This allows for a balanced and holistic lifestyle.
  5. Practice gratitude: In life, we tend to focus on things that we don’t have, often forgetting about the things that are already present. The information hub suggests that practising gratitude daily can improve your mental health as it helps you avoid negativity in your life.
