Sizok’thola’s new presenter Xolani Maphanga has allegedly been arrested for assaulting an elderly woman named Tebogo in Soshanguve, Pretoria.

The news of the arrest was shared by MDN News on X (formerly known as Twitter) after it was reported that the presenter was wanted by the police. ZiMoja had previously reported that the presenter went to the alleged drug dealer’s house after receiving a  tip-off from the police.

The publication also noted that more information was received from the police officials linking the family to drug manufacturing and distribution in the area. It was further said that the family opened a case with the police after the drug bust, reporting the presenter and his security team of assaulting the elderly woman.

In a statement, Moja Love was quick to respond to the allegations against the show and its host, commenting:

“This is a pure allegation against the production team which is doing a great job in eradicating drugs from the streets. The production works hand in hand with the SAPS. When the team arrived, it was revealed that the whole family partakes in the dealing of narcotics,” the channel said in a statement.

This is not the first time the show’s host is embroiled in a legal battle as the former show host Xolani Khumalo was also arrested and released on bail of R20 000 following the death of an alleged drug dealer, Robert “Kicks” Varrie, shortly after filming the reality show. It is alleged that Xolani and his crew assaulted the Kicks who later fell ill and died.
