It was the late Mpho Sebeng’s funeral recently and many industry industry friends and close friends were there to pay their last respects to the talented actor.

Mpho died a week ago in a tragic accident in Potchefstroom, North West province. Many people wondered what the Soweto-born actor was doing almost 130km away from his home until his friend shared a story of how he got there.

Sisanda, a friend to Mpho detailed during his memorial service that they are a group of friends who met in Joburg through their late friend who also passed away a month ago in a car accident.

The friends then decided to turn their friendship into brotherhood.

It was at their friend’s funeral three weeks ago that the brotherhood members decided to strengthen their friendship by embarking on a project to visit each other’s parents and introduce themselves to each member’s families.

The brotherhood members decided to go to their friend’s family in Potchefstroom to commence with their project.

Mpho was not supposed to go on the trip as he had a workshop in Joburg on the 4th of May, the day of the trip to Potchefstroom.

The friend said two days before the day of departure Mpho changed his mind and said he would also travel to Potchefstroom.

Mpho was the last friend to arrive in Potchefstroom as the friend shared and everything went well as they got to meet their friend’s mother who admired him greatly.

“We stayed, we were not supposed to come back. It was communicated that gents, it is far and the roads are not ok here, so please let’s not drive at night,” said Sisanda.

Sisanda went further to detail that he went to sleep earlier than others as the friends continued to enjoy time together.

Early hours of the morning, the actor decided to sneak out and drive back to Joburg. The friend also detailed that the last text from Mpho was around 5 am and a second one came around 8 am informing them of the accident.
