Tol A$$ Mo walks away from Mome and announces divorce

by Bongiwe Mati

Mongezi Mahlangu, better known as Tol A$$ Mo, shocked many social media users when he shared on DJ Fresh’s podcast WAW! WHAT A WEEK that he and his wife of 14 years Mome Mahlangu were living in separate houses, and that they were in the process of filing for divorce.

This comes shortly after the couple were used on the promo airing of Tumi Morake’s new show Sunday Sexy Love that will air every Sunday on Mzansi Magic from October where the couple will be guests on.

When asked by DJ Fresh what the status of his relationship with Mome was, Tol A$$ Mo said that currently they were separated and in the process of filing for a divorce. He added, “People grow, we grew apart, we went through so many struggles in our relationship. I was there for her as much as she was there for me.

“It really hursts me so much, we have reached a point where things are not working between the two of us.”

He added that he was the one walking away from his marriage, adding:

“I am f*cking traumatised by black women, I’m so traumatised that I don’t want to have a black wife again.”

The Mo&Mome reality TV star also noted that he had said in one of his interviews that he was so traumatised that he started seeing his rape accuser Lerato Moloi’s face even when he was making love to his wife.

In 2018, model and actress Lerato Moloi alleged that the comedian sexually assaulted her while working on a television production in Paarl in the Western Cape, as reported by The Citizen.

Tol A$$ Mo was acquitted of the charges in 2022 after facing many years of backlash, losing deals and having to fully rely on his wife for emotional and financial support.

The producer also noted that Mome was not part of his trauma, adding that he loves black women and does not mind taking photos and showing love to them when he sees them but also added that he wanted a caucasian woman as his next love.
