Ever wonder what you may be able to achieve if you saved your allowance for two years? One student discovered the answer.
A TikTok user recently went viral after she showcased her newly fully built house. The most impressive part about this is that she managed to achieve this by means of strict discipline.
In the video, which boasts more than 300,000 views, the TikTok user @Kiibiza shared that after saving her NSFAS student allowance for an entire two years, she recently managed to build a new home for her family.
The clip further revealed the building process from what appeared to be a dilapidated structure with an unstable roof, to a newly built and painted home which now provides comfort and security.
She captioned: “God did.”

Despite being left in awe by what she managed to achieve, others felt sceptical and questioned whether what she claimed was realistically possible. This is especially since the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is known only to cover basic needs outside of tuition costs.
These usually include travel and meal allowances.
After coming across the video, one user was in disbelief, asking:
“Never! How much were you getting kanti?”
While one person asked her to provide a detailed description concerning the costs of the building process, another became highly critical.
“Congratulations! But honestly, this is not right. The money is for you guys to go to school and not build homes and buy cars. Otherwise, it means you never needed it for school, while some kid is rejected and they really need it for school,” the person wrote.
