Mzansi got to experience a Durban July without the extravagant media personality Somizi “Somgaga” Mhlongo as he took off to Ibiza with his besties, Moshe Ndiki and Ndo Maleho.

Somizi is always one of the most talked about celebrities at the Durban July event as he always has more than one outfit planned for the annual horse racing spectacle. A few years back, the former IdolsSA judge gave a platform to upcoming designers as he wore different outfits made by several young unknown designers to the event.

While many South Africans were disappointed that he wasn’t in attendance, Somgaga had plans to party up a storm thousands of kilometres away from home.

Teasing his followers on his Instagram platform, Somizi posted his and his best friend’s first-class boarding passes to Dubai. He accompanied the pics with the caption, “Durban Newly.”

The Sompire clothing brand owner followed up with a video of the three of them on board, sipping champagne at the Emirates first-class bar with the caption, “Dubai July with the squad.”

Enjoying a night and hanging out with locals in Ibiza, the father of one shared videos of them with the caption, “I don’t think we are coming back.”

As expected, Somgaga drizzled a bit of humour captioning his next post, “No wonder Durban July e sena (doesn’t have) vibe.”

Taking time to attend Black Coffee’s resident gig at Hï Ibiza, Somizi praised the multi-award-winning DJ promising to share more content of his event later, “I’m still out of words regarding what I witnessed and experienced last night. But I’ll make a video later and tell you all about it. But in the meantime, all I can say is Hail the king @realblackcoffee,” detailed Somizi.
