‘She wants her in jail’- Internet reacts to Basetsana’s statement in Jackie Phamotse’s case

A formal impact statement by former Miss South Africa-turned-businesswoman Basetsana ‘Bassie’ Kumalo on her case against author Jackie Phamotse made its rounds on the internet, leaving many users stating that the media mogul wants Jackie in prison gear.

The statement details the pain and trauma experienced by the couple when they were falsely accused of sexual misconduct, with the author stating that she had recordings to back up her story.

The couple won the court case which dates back to 2018 when the author made those allegations, with sentencing due yesterday but later postponed for the 26th of March.

The court battle was a result of a tweet shared by Jackie in 2018 where she claimed to have overheard a conversation between the media mogul and her husband Romeo Kumalo begging her friend not to release Romeo’s sex video with a male celebrity.

Detailing the negative impact Jackie’s tweet had on her son, Bassie stated:

“On the day after the tweet was trending, no one would like to sit a 14-year-old down and explain to them that this is what has been said about their parents on social media, so they didn’t go to school and hear it from other kids.”

The statement also noted that the power couple lost some friends and family and even businesses they were pursuing in the process of the allegations which were found untrue by the court.

Upon seeing the statement, internet users expressed how Basetsana’s intentions were not to sue the author but to put her straight behind bars, they commented:

Yea she doesn’t want money. She wants her under the jail

More users shared:

In a nutshell, she is not planning to sue but wants her in jail! ?

One user was not happy with a possible prison sentence, commenting:

And in prison taxpayers must feed someone who has not killed anyone? Community service will be appropriate. We pay tax not because we like it.

One user reflected on Jackie’s controversial book titled Bare: The Cradle of the Hockey Club which reveals high-profile politicians, businessmen and entertainers who allegedly visited secret locations for kinky sexual acts with different women.

The truth is that Jackie’s books had stepped on a lot of high-profile people’s shoes, some who even put a hit on her life. at one stage there was an attempt to assassinate her in her apartment. So besides this case, many would love to silence her.
