When the late rapper, AKA said, “Any day this life gonna flash before your eyes” he knew exactly what he was talking about.

It has been a sad time for the South African football community after losing two of their players, Siyabonga Zulu, a former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana defender, and his teammate Nhlanhla Masina, a former TS Sporting player.

The accident occurred on Saturday, after their team, Phezulu FC, played a match against Sivutsa Stars at Driekoppies Stadium in Mpumalanga. Another player, Thabo Mosadi, is in critical condition and fighting for his life in the hospital.

Siyabonga Zulu had a notable career, playing for top-flight teams like Orlando Pirates, Chippa United, Platinum Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Black Leopards. He was capped once by the national team in 2015.

Fans and supporters took to X (previously Twitter) to send words of encouragement whilst they expressed their broken hearts.

May their departed souls rest in peace and speedy recovery to those injured
