Makhadzi reportedly engaged

by Bongiwe Mati

Award-winning singer Makhadzi whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona is said to be off the market as her businessman boyfriend Lawrence Mulaudzi has reportedly asked for her hand in marriage.

Makhadzi’s relationship with the Limpopo-born businessman first came to light last year after the singer was in an on-and-off relationship with industry mate, Master KG.

In a live social media video, Makhadzi confirmed that she was seeing someone else who wasn’t Master KG. Receiving a call while going live, Makhadzi said she wasn’t going to take the call adding that she doesn’t like jealous people who call her while she’s talking to her fans. She also noted that her boyfriend is the jealous type who always calls when she’s live.

The news of Makhadzi’s engagement was shared by local publication ZiMoja who added that Lawrence sent delegations to Makhadzi’s family in December.

A source close to the couple told the publication that the singer who is mostly in Cape Town and her team decided to keep things under wraps to avoid media attention.

“Her PR team is trying by all means to keep her image clean. She is mostly based in Cape Town where Mulaudzi has businesses but travels to Joburg and Limpopo when she has gigs.”

Another source known by the publication shared that Makhadzi has been a better person since being with Lawrence. Confirming the news of the couple’s engagement, the source shared:

“He popped the question around the festive season. He gave her a beautiful stone, but we doubt she is going to rock it in public or on the engagement ring finger to avoid being asked questions.”
