Controversial Limpopo-born rapper Shebeshxt had many internet users calling for his arrest after a video of him pulling out a gun in front of a crowd had recently gone viral.

Real name Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, Shebeshxt rose to prominence last year after his song Ke Di Shxt Malume made waves on TikTok. Although the artist is known for his musical abilities, he has also hogged headlines for the wrong reasons.

Dubbed “President ya Ma2000,” last year the rapper was released after spending a short period in jail after he faced various criminal charges, including assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and attempted murder, Sunday World reported.

Now, the internet wants Shebeshxt back behind bars after a video of the Twerka hitmakers revealed that he was carrying a gun in his bag and pointed it at one of his concertgoers.

Internet users were not impressed with the rapper’s latest stint. Here is what some had to say:

“He must be arrested for attempted murder.”

“Just imagine if that gun was a soft trigger and he accidentally pulled it while he was slipping. The law needs to take course towards him for this.”

“It is an offence to point any firearm or airgun at any other person, whether it is loaded or not, and whether it is capable of being discharged or not, without good reason. He should be arrested immediately.”

While appearing on the L-Tido podcast, Shebeshxt shared with the host why he resorts to violence during most of his performances and daily life.

“I’m not fighting with them. I hit them once just to show them that I was not fighting and to tell them to relax and not start with me. For them, it’s fun, for me it’s work. So when they try to provoke me at work it makes me think they want to make me lose work and go hungry.”
