Internet reacts to Akhenime Mfenyana’s exit on Gqeberha: The Empire

South African actress Akhenime Mfenyana who plays the role of Anathi in Gqeberha: The Empire is exiting the controversial telenovela.

The Eastern Cape-based show since it began in January 2023. The show replaced Mzansi Magic’s popular telenovela The Queen which ran for almost seven years.

Taking to X, an app formerly known as Twitter, entertainment commentator Jabulani Macdonald shared, “Siyasanga Akhenime Mfenyana will be leaving #GqeberhaTheEmpire Season 2 and watch her final episode as Anathi Mxenge this Friday at 9pm.”

X users took to the comment section to share their views, one wrote that they hope she got a new job and continues to blossom.

Anathi is actually good, especially with that bad bitch character, I hope she gets something that will bring her good side out

Other users wanted the show to be cancelled:

Other X users were pointing out characters that should leave the show instead of Anathi, they also added that since Zikhona Sodlaka left the show it was not interesting anymore.
