It looks like comedian and TV reality star, Mongezi Mahlangu will halt his birthday celebration after DJ, reality star and famous Sangoma, Tumi Motsoeni Shange popularly known as Gogo Skhotheni turned down his apology.

This follows after the comedian shared his views while he was a guest on Podcast and Chill about traditional healers who use muti while pregnant, and implied that Gogo Skhotheni’s spiritual calling and rituals may have contributed to Monde Jnr Shange’s death.

Soon after he apologised, Gogo Skhotheni allegedly rejected his apology. According to Fakaza news, the DJ said: “No I am sick and tired of people speaking ill about my late son then apologise when I retaliate. You knew exactly what you said and what you meant if you really are sorry you should’ve apologised right after the interview or following day niyijwayele lento yenu (you always do this),” she said.

“I won’t forgive you phumani ku boy wami (leave my boy alone) I am sure wherever he is he regrets being my son because every month something bad is said about him, you not sorry niks (at all) you know what you said phuma kimi (leave me alone),” the DJ added.

In his apology, Tol Ass Mo said: “I want to take a moment to sincerely apologise for my words. In the heat of the moment, I spoke without truly understanding the depth of pain that comes with losing a child. I realise now how insensitive my words may have been, and I deeply regret any hurt I may have caused.”

He further added that he takes accountability for his words and that he apologises profusely. “Loss is something no-one should have to experience, and I can’t begin to imagine the pain of those who have. I take full accountability for my words, and I am truly sorry. Moving forward, I will be more mindful and considerate in my speech, ensuring that I lead with empathy and understanding.”

He also vowed to not celebrate his 39th birthday, until Gogo Skhotheni forgives him.

Gogo Skhotheni’s husband, Monde Shange also slammed him for his insensitive comment. Monde said Tol Ass Mo crossed a line for speaking about the loss of their son with disrespect and ignorance on a public platform.

He revealed that he did not appreciate the comment made by Tol Ass Mo about his wife and their late son, and further stated that it was reckless and inhumane of him. In the end, he asked him to respect their loss, his wife and most importantly Monde Jnr’s memory.
