Two former Miss South Africa title holders Shudufhadzo Musida and Ndavi Nokeri are proving that they are more than just pretty faces as they’ve both landed big acting roles in an upcoming Mzansi Magic drama series Queen Modjadji.

The two beauty queens who hail from the Limpopo province will play queens in the drama series something that should be very familiar to both of them. Ndavi will play the role of Muthanoni Khensani – one of Queen Modjadji’s wives from the vaTsonga Royal Family while Shudu portrays the role of Muthanoni Mulalo another wife of the queen/king’s wives from the vhaVenda Royal Family.

Announcing the new series MultiChoice Group CEO for General Entertainment, Nomsa Philiso shared, “Bringing Queen Modjadji to our audiences meets their desire for television entertainment drawn from our heritage and it also flows seamlessly into our plans to create a catalogue of drama series made in African languages. Queen Modjadji comes hot off the trail of Shaka iLembe which was a global phenomenon and very much an expression of the MultiChoice’s strategy to drive home-grown, authentic African storytelling.”

The news was also shared on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) by television presenter and entertainment commentator @PhilMphela.

Not in bad way or anything. Don’t get me wrong our former Miss SA are really beautiful ladies. But are they actual actresses with talent? I’m sure we got so much talent and incredible Venda speaking thespians, this is just unfair and well unfortunate.
