Oprah’s unpleasant experience follows that of other celebs who’ve also had terrible experiences with hackers. Some stars have had to go as far as exposing fake social media accounts too:

Hey Guys! Please note this number is not mine. This is a nigerian scam. They just take our pictures here, create fake Facebook, instagram, twitter accounts impersonating us, also whatsapp numbers and scam people for money. They will ask for ewallets, data, airtime and so on, they also promise you will meet me… And shem and you never will. Please BEWARE of CATFISH. This is the downside of social media?.
