A leading lady in Mzansi’s entertainment industry, Bonang Matheba, gears up to host the opening night of the B20 Summit tomorrow, 18th November 2025.
The Business 20 (B20) is the official G20 dialogue forum with a focus on the global business community. Since its inception, the B20 has become one of the most influential G20 Engagement Groups. It brings together business leaders from across the world to shape policy on investment, sustainability, and inclusive growth.
South Africa hosts the first-ever G20 and B20 Presidency led from Africa. As such, it is no surprise that the forum went with Bonang as the host for opening night.
For more than two decades, South Africa has been the only African country to hold a seat in the G20 since its inception, with the role of bringing African voices and views into the global dialogue.
The B20 South Africa is committed to driving collaboration between advanced economies and emerging markets, ensuring that growth benefits people everywhere.
This historic milestone and high-level event will serve as the culmination of a year of policy dialogue and Task Force engagement. It is a platform for global dialogue, cross-sector collaboration and shared learning, all of which will help connect international perspectives with Africa’s leadership moment.
From tomorrow, the 18th, until Thursday, the 20th of November 2025, the B20 will unpack its alignment with the broader G20 agenda and its key summit themes.
On a media release, Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Zuko Godlimpi, shared: “This is critical in facilitating smoother partnerships between South Africa and foreign business and ensuring investments in the country can flourish”.
