Correct Your Concealer

We have seen it on the shelf, but don’t know what it’s for –- a concealer is one of the best make-up tools because of its multiple uses. Colour concealers are best used to cover and correct your face for a flawless finish – it gets rid of blemishes, spots and acne when used correctly.

Here is a list of the various colours and their uses:

1. Nude/Neutral

Revlon Colorstay Concealer – R205.00

  • helps neutralise basic small imperfections or blemishes
  • works best when applied as a primer before applying eye shadow and lipstick for a long lasting effect
  • helps highlight certain highlight certain areas of your face when contouring

 

2. Green

Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer – R470.00

  • helps to neutralise skin discolouration like red spots, blemishes and acne on your face
  • apply it only on problem areas and blend it into your skin

 

3. Orange

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer – R360. 00

  • helps neutralise the dark circles or spots with deep discolouration on dark skin tones
  • helps brighten the area around the eyes
  • for light skin tones, it works best as a liquid bronzer when contouring

 

4.Pink/Peach/Salmon

Urban Decay Naked Skin Colour Correcting Fluid – R275.00

  • neutralises areas with green looking blemishes or veins
  • helps mask signs of exhaustion by brightening the area around the eye when applied
  • it also masks dark shadows around your mouth

 

5. Yellow

  • this is the most used as it works great as a skin brightener
  • helps neutralise purple or blue bruises, veins, and under eye circles

 

6. Purple/Lavender/Lilac
