‘Hotspot Seli’ premieres tonight: What to expect from revamped ‘Selimathunzi’

The revamped season of Selimathunzi, now Hotspot Seli, premieres today, 1 October 2026, and will give fans a modern approach to pop culture.

This follows the departure of long-time host Zanele Potelwa. With a new presenting trio and a sharper focus on social media trends, the now-rebranded Hotspot Seli is catering to a more digitally connected audience.

What to expect from Hotspot Seli

The new presenters, Khanyisile ‘Khanyi Mars’ Masimola, Munaka Muthambi and Oratile ‘Roiii’ Kgobe, are growing faces in media who started as digital content creators and grew into fame. According to TVSA, the presenters will bring individual personalities, creative perspectives, and distinctive connections to popular culture.

TVSA also reports that the show will push beyond the polished public images of celebrities and personalities, showing viewers the authentic side of culture.

What’s being covered this season

Hotspot Seli will take viewers into the heart of some of the biggest entertainment experiences, including Scorpion Kings Live, Tropika Island of Treasure, the iLembe Heritage Festival in Mandeni, KwaZulu-Natal, the Masquerade Ball in Sun City, and the Macufe Music Festival in Bloemfontein.
