A man linked to the dog attack involving South African actor Mondli Thusi has been released on a warning while investigations into the incident continue.

The case, which has sparked public concern and renewed debate around dangerous dog ownership, stems from an alleged pit bull attack that left Mondli injured and seeking medical attention.

Released pending further investigation

According to Daily Sun, the suspect was not kept in custody and was instead released on a warning as authorities continue to gather statements and assess the circumstances surrounding the attack. No formal conviction has been made at this stage, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Law enforcement officials are expected to review witness accounts and any available evidence before deciding on possible charges or further legal steps. According to MDN News, a source alleged that the owner of the pit bulls tried to deny ownership of both dogs.

“He is now claiming that he only owns one pit bull and that the other was taken by the SPCA. We are just wondering why they failed to take both of them, because it is clear that the owner is failing to keep them in a safe place where they won’t be able to attack other people.”

Public reaction and safety concerns

The case has triggered strong reactions on social media, with many calling for stricter enforcement of laws relating to aggressive dog breeds and owner responsibility. Others have raised broader concerns about public safety and accountability in similar incidents.

Mondli’s supporters have also expressed concern for his recovery, with many urging authorities to ensure the matter is handled thoroughly and transparently.

What happens next

As the investigation continues, authorities are expected to determine whether further legal action will be taken against the dog owner. The outcome of the case could add to ongoing national conversations around pet ownership regulations and public safety standards.

For now, the matter remains under investigation, with both legal and public attention closely focused on developments.
