Rachel Kolisi claps back at trolls and embraces her new normal

Since her divorce from Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, Rachel Kolisi has been navigating life under the unrelenting gaze of the public eye. But rather than shrink under scrutiny, she’s reclaiming her narrative and not letting online negativity dictate her pace.

Thriving on her own clock

The businesswoman, mother, and storyteller gave fans a candid look at her “new normal” on Instagram, sharing glimpses of her hectic yet fulfilling days. Between family time, laptop work, and event planning, Rachel reminded everyone that she’s not merely surviving; she’s building, creating, and thriving on her own terms.

In a viral post, she listed the multitude of roles she juggles:

“Building a business. Writing a book. Finishing a documentary. Doing everything from event planning to merch for 5 x upcoming events. Preparing my biggest talk yet for @forbeswomanafrica. Raising humans. Keeping bills paid. Carrying it all. Some days it’s messy. Every day, I show up and do my best.”

Her post radiated both honesty and resilience, showing the messiness behind success—a reality often glossed over on social media.

Standing strong against heartbreak

Rachel didn’t shy away from sharing the emotional weight she carries, including heartbreak, betrayal, and public scrutiny. Through a series of empowering quotes, she highlighted how personal endurance translates into visible strength:

“You cannot break a woman who has carried family weight, money stress, career pressure, heartbreak, and betrayal, and still choose to keep going. She has been tested in quiet ways no one applauds.”

It’s a message that resonated with thousands of South African women, many of whom flooded her post with gratitude and encouragement.

A classy clap back

Of course, social media trolls emerged, attempting to belittle her journey. One critic bluntly commented, “Just move on tog, it’s boring now.” But Rachel responded with poise and humor:

“@vetjie mate, you know there’s an unfollow button especially for you 😂😘.”

The reply went viral, earning praise for her ability to maintain composure while setting boundaries online.

“Many women are silent, but they feel and hear this. All will be well even for them🙌,” said @intle.

Rachel responded warmly, acknowledging the support:

“I appreciate this message more than you know ❤️.”

Her story is a testament to embracing life’s chaos, owning one’s healing process, and turning public scrutiny into motivation—not limitation.
