Over 400 episodes later, Mzansi Magic’s My Brother’s Keeper recently wrapped up filming.

The riveting drama series that kept mzansi glued on their screens, wondering who Fakazile will marry next will still air on the screens as the date of the final episode to air on TV has not been confirmed.

Mzansi Magic surprised many when they announced that the show alongside Umkhokha: The Curse has been cancelled, citing that this is part of their strategic evolution as they are opening their doors to new producers and production houses aiming to deliver more compelling and innovative local talent.

My Brother’s Keeper with the name that implies a moral obligation to care for others, is a drama series that is set against the backdrop of an overly ambitious son who is tired of being sidelined by his father. The son later breaks his father’s rules by going after his brother’s widow.

The drama series boasts with a star-studded cast that includes Wiseman Mncube, Sdumo Mtshali, Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala, Zola Nombona and Lindani Nkosi.

Recently, Zola who played the character of Fakazile Shabalala took to her TikTok page to share the cast celebrating the wrap of the show and bidding farewell to one another.

Hlengiwe who played the character of the matriarch of the Shabalala household, Mamchunu recently poured her heart out about her role on My Brother’s Keeper in an interview with Daily Sun.

“We are heart broken. It’s sad, especially if you feel like you’ve been doing good work and have been giving it your all. It’s rare that you find a group of artists who just pour their hearts into a story. The crew as well, I’ve never seen such a hard working crew,” said Hlengiwe.
