What to expect from the 2026 NACA

As reported by Bizcommunity, this year’s National Arts and Culture Awards are being held under the theme ‘Celebrating Our Nation’s Creative Excellence.’ The awards recognise achievement and innovation across a wide range of disciplines, including performing arts, visual arts and crafts, literary works, design, creative services, heritage, audio-visual and interactive media.

The NACA was established to shine a national spotlight on exceptional South African creatives and acknowledge their contribution to the country’s cultural and creative industries. The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture intends for the awards to become an annual platform celebrating outstanding artistic and technical achievement.

With Mtanga and Naraghi at the helm, the 2026 ceremony promises an evening celebrating the talent, innovation and cultural richness that continue to shape South Africa’s creative identity.
