This is why you should answer your phone with your left ear

Answering your phone usually does not come with much thinking or consideration, you just casually do it and often quickly because you don’t want to keep the other person waiting.

So, whether you answer it with your right ear or your left one, there’s usually not much thought into that. However, what if I told you that it is actually important that you are mindful of which ear you use to answer your phone? Health experts explain this further as to why it’s important and how it affects you.

The Nort East Post publication states that research indicates that using your right ear for phone calls can directly impact your brain, potentially causing increased heat generation and potential brain damage. It is further stated that the radiation from mobile phones can cause a rise in tissue temperature, and prolonged exposure could exacerbate these risks.

“The potential consequences of concentrating mobile radiation on one side of your brain are not limited to physical health concerns. Some studies have suggested that this imbalance could affect cognitive functions, memory, and concentration.”

A recent study by audiologist Dr Allison Catlett Woodall found that cell phone use exceeding 60 minutes per day can cause lasting damage, such as high-frequency hearing loss. This is said to affect speech comprehension and consonant discernment.

According to Better Health, to reduce exposure to RF radiation, choose a low specific absorption rate model, use a landline phone, keep calls short, use a hands-free kit, and avoid carrying your phone close to your body.
