Mixed feelings hover on social media over the finale of the most watched and adored drama on E.tv, Imbewu: The Seed. The channel apparently decided to cancel this telenovela after a good five-year run.

The show has had its ups and downs over the years, just like any other television program, whether it be the termination of actors and actresses or disputes on and off set. However, the surprising announcement that this KwaZulu-Natal-based drama has been canceled has many people’s tongues spinning.

Entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela, claims that E.tv, the network, has ultimately decided to stop the program. Despite the fact that not much has been announced about the cancellation, rumors have already started to circulate on social media.

Numerous viewers have since rejoiced over the show’s cancellation. Imbewu recently brought back a character who had previously died on the show. Some viewers are happy that this show is finally coming to an end because the return of Ngcolosi on Imbewu truly offended some viewers.

“Bekufanele, uZimele esewuStefano Dimera” said a Twitter user. Loosely translated as “This had to happen, Zimele turned into a Stefano Dimera.”

“The writers lost the plot at some point …its time,” said another user.

However, some viewers were taken aback by the cancellation of Imbewu. Evidently, since its premiere in 2018, this program has been bringing in viewers. However, nobody is aware of what happens behind closed doors in these productions. Instead, E.tv is already under fire for the unexpected termination of Imbewu.

“Mxm Etv sabotaged imbewu shem, how can a channel move a shpw that was one of the most watched to a slot with so much competition. I’m saddened by this cos this was really a great show,” said a dissapointed user.
