How long have you been baking?
I’ve been baking since I was young, but I became a professional baker in 2012.
Did you go to school to learn how to bake?
I think it runs in the family. My brother is a self-taught artist. My grandmother and mother are the best bakers, so I think I got it from them.
Where are you based?
In Protea Glen, ext 16 in Soweto.
Which cakes do you bake?
I bake all sorts – from scones to designed cakes.

How long have you been baking?
This year is my third year, and I’m still going strong.
Your work is stunning! Who taught you to bake, or did you go to a baking school?
I wish I went to school, but fortunately I taught myself because I have a passion for baking. My daughter also played an important role in my baking skills; when she was young, she used to ask me to bake with her every Saturday morning.
Where are you based?
I’m based in Dayveton in the East Rand.
Which cakes do you bake?
I bake every kind – all my cakes are done at home in my oven.

I taught myself. I’m passionate about food; I also do catering. I was inspired by another lady on Facebook.

How long have you been baking?
I’ve been baking since I was young. I used to bake just for fun, but my sister’s wedding changed my mind. I baked her wedding cake and it came out very well. Since then, I took my baking serious and turned my passion into a business.
Who taught you or which baking school did you go to?
Surprisingly, I taught myself. I read at baking books and feel inspired to bake.
