COUNT YOURSELF LUCKY

We sadly live in a threatening economy and the best way to cope with the financial constraints is to have a job. So if you have it, know you are among the privileged ones.

MONEY TALKS

The best part about having a job is getting paid for the work you do. No matter what job you do, you should get some form of income, unless you volunteered to work there. In most cases, earning a salary is the only way you are able to pay your children’s school fees and the mortgage, and also pay off your credit bill.

WORRY LESS

With so much to concern yourself with (children getting sick, petrol prices going up), at least you won’t have to worry about not having a job.

IF YOU DON’T LOVE IT, IT WON’T STAY

It’s true what they say – if you do not have the passion for your job then you will never prosper. Worst of all, you will constantly be grumpy. The more content you are in your field of work, the better you will appreciate it.

UP YOU GO

There is a lot you can accomplish with a positive attitude. By no means do we encourage sucking up, but if you respect everyone in the office, do your work, and constantly bring great energy to the office, the results will show and this could lead to a possible promotion or high rewards.

KNOW YOUR PLACE

If you are not happy, do not force yourself to stay. At times we take job opportunities because we fear the idea of being unemployed. However, to avoid this, be certain that the job you decide to do is something you are going to enjoy. If you know you are talented in the arts, do something artistic; if you know you’re terrible at mathematics, then perhaps being a business science analyst is not the job for you.

IT’S A DREAM COME TRUE

Youngsters are often asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” This encourages them to think of themselves as grown people with the jobs of their choice. So, no matter the field you work in, remember that even if you may not be living the initial dream job, you will be living someone else’s – and that can never be such a bad thing.

THEY HIRED YOU!

Lastly, you should love your job because you were chosen to do the work by someone who believed you had the right qualities and skills. So grab the opportunity and the trust they have handed to you by the horns – you cannot let the bosses down.

With the office politics, and personal issues affecting your work life, it can often be extremely hard to stick it through and love your job. But take a moment to smell the roses and count your blessings once in a while.
