Mamelodi Sundowns continued their relentless push for another Betway Premiership title after securing a 2-0 win over Orbit College at Olympia Park in Rustenburg.
The reigning champions left it late to break the deadlock, but two second-half goals were enough to seal all three points and extend their impressive league run to seven consecutive victories.
The result temporarily lifts Masandawana to the top of the standings, putting them three points ahead of Orlando Pirates. However, the Buccaneers still have the chance to reclaim first place when they face Richards Bay on Wednesday.

Sundowns turn pressure into goals
The Brazilians began the match on the front foot and looked the more dangerous side throughout the first half.
Iqraam Rayners came close early on with a low strike that drifted just wide of the target, while Arthur Sales also had an opportunity but could only guide his header over the crossbar from close range.
Despite Sundowns controlling much of the play, Orbit College managed to hold firm defensively, ensuring the teams went into halftime with the score still level.
The breakthrough arrived shortly after the restart.
Just three minutes into the second half, Nuno Santos nodded the ball into the path of Miguel Reisinho, who calmly finished from close range to give Sundowns the lead.
The goal shifted the momentum firmly in favour of the visitors.

Rayners seals the victory
Less than ten minutes later, Sundowns doubled their advantage from the penalty spot.
Khuliso Mudau was brought down inside the area by Ramahlwe Mphahlele, prompting the referee to point straight to the spot. Rayners stepped up and confidently converted the penalty to make it 2-0.
With the cushion in place, Sundowns managed the remainder of the match comfortably, controlling possession and preventing Orbit College from mounting a comeback.

Different fortunes at both ends of the table
The victory strengthens Sundowns’ title charge as they continue to set the pace in the Betway Premiership.
For Orbit College, the defeat keeps them second from bottom in the standings. However, they remain five points clear of Magesi FC, who sit at the foot of the table.
As the league campaign intensifies, every point will become crucial for teams fighting both at the top and bottom of the table.
Attention turns to continental football
Sundowns will now shift their focus to continental competition.
The Pretoria giants are set to return to action on Friday when they host Malian side Stade Malien in the first leg of their CAF Champions League quarterfinal clash.
With momentum building in the league and a crucial continental tie ahead, Masandawana will be hoping their strong run of form continues in the days to come.
