No need to dash to the store every time you need fresh buns when you have this simple and delicious lunch buns recipe from Ntwenhle Gcabashe

Prep time: 60 minutes

Cooking time: 45 minutes

Makes: 12-16 buns

  • 6 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 sachet instant yeast
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cup warm water

3 easy bread recipes 

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
  2. In a jug, mix butter (save 2 tablespoons) and water. Slowly add to dry ingredients. Mix well and form soft dough. Knead for 8-10 minutes. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it double it size.
  3. Knead for another 8-10 minutes. Divide dough into 12 pieces. Roll into sausage shape. Place into baking tray. Cover with a kitchen cloth and let it double in size again.
  4. Brush with remaining melted butter. Bake for 45 minutes or until cooked.
  5. Serve warm.
