Livers are always delicious, no matter how they are made, try this recipe on a cold winter day. You can have it for breakfast or lunch

Liver and Onions

Ingredients
  • ½ cup margarine
  • 2kg chicken livers
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried chilli flakes
  • 3 large onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons apricot jam
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. In a frying pan, melt the margarine.
  2. Mix flour, paprika and chilli flakes. Season well with salt and pepper.
  3. Dust the liver with the flour mixture.
  4. Fry livers for 4-5 minutes each side. Remove from pan and set aside.
  5. Add the onions to the same pan and fry for 10 -15 minutes. Add jam.
  6. Mix livers and onions. Serve immediately.
