Where to donate your evening dresses to a girl who can’t afford one

by All4Women
Where to donate your second hand evening dress so a young girl can have a princess look for her matric dance

While the night may be long over, that matric, formal or evening dress is probably still sitting in your closet taking up space and gathering dust. We give you the best solution to where you can donate your evening dress to a girl who cannot afford to look like a princess.

We have found some places that really need your unused formal dresses to help those who are unable to afford dresses for special occasions like a matric farewell.

The Cinderella Project

The Cinderella Project is part of the Jes Foord Foundation and they collect second-hand formal gowns and suits for donations to students at underprivileged schools for their matric dances. They accept matric dance dresses, bridesmaids outfits and evening gowns.

The Princess Project

This project arose when the founders realised that because many matriculants do not have the financial means to get dressed for the occasion, they often just didn’t attend functions like their matric farewell. The Princess Project accepts evening, wedding, ball gowns as well as bridesmaid dresses, shoes and accessories.

The Fairy Godmother

The Fairy Godmother aims to give students an opportunity to attend their matric farewell and gives them an evening dress, jewellery, bag as well as shoes. The project, therefore, accepts all kinds of evening dresses, jewellery, bags and shoes.
