Review – HUAWEI P20 Pro

by Fundiswa Nkwanyana
HUAWEI P20 Pro mobile phone review

We got an opportunity to test out the HUAWEI P20 Pro, and the experience was incredible. Here’s why we love the phone and why we think you should try it out. By Fundiswa Nkwanyana

First impressions:  I was impressed by the screen to body ratio of this mobile phone because it fit perfectly in my hands and the 6.1-inch screen made it easy for me to see all the apps on the screen. As a person that loves products that are visually appealing, I was rather disappointed that it did not have a wow factor and looked like any other phone. However, there are a few covers for the phone that are available in different colours.

Performance: I couldn’t wait to share the pictures that I took with the phone on social media because they were the best pictures I have ever taken with a smartphone. The device has many shooting modes and some of them are monochrome, light painting, 3D panorama, vivid colours, smooth colours, 2X zoom and many more. The camera configuration is comprised of a 40MP RGB sensor, a 20MP monochrome sensor, and an 8MP sensor with telephoto lens. My favourite mode is the ultra-snapshot mode which enables the device to capture an image in as little as 0.3 seconds, even from an off screen. So amazing! Apart from the exceptional camera quality, the device also supports 22 hours of 3G calling, 13 hours of web browsing, or 17 hours of video playback. It also has a remarkable battery life which I love.

Final thoughts: The extraordinary camera quality of this device makes it my favourite. With its retail price +- R 15 499, I believe that it’s definitely worth it especially for people that want amazing pictures.
